ENGKILILI: The XPDC 3.0 programme organised by the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) focuses on monitoring the development of infrastructure projects, particularly in the areas of Ulu Skrang, Ulu Kota and Ulu Entabai.
The programme which took place on 12 to 13 August 2026 was led by Sarawak Deputy Premier and Minister for Port Infrastructure and Development (MIPD) Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas together with Sarawak JKR Director Datu Dr Cassidy Morris as well as technical officers and related agencies.
The group started the tour on the first day by inspecting Project No. 1 Proposed Slope Remedial Works at KM13+800, Ulu Skrang (Q449), followed by Project No. 2 Proposed Slope Remedial Works at KM21+900, Ulu Skrang (Q449).
The next visit involves Project No. 3 Repairing Jalan Pinchoh, Ulu Skrang (Retender) to review the current condition of the route as well as the progress of the repair works carried out.
In the afternoon, the group continued to visit the Ulu Skrang Road Project, Lubok Antu (Phase 2) which includes important components such as Menggong Bridge and Penabun Bridge before leaving for the Ulu Kota project site.
The visit allows the actual situation of the project to be reviewed directly on-the-ground, in addition to obtaining technical briefings regarding the implementation status, challenges and matters that require further attention.
XPDC 3.0 also reflects the commitment of the Sarawak Government in ensuring that infrastructure development projects are implemented effectively and benefit the people, particularly the communities in the Ulu Skrang area and its surrounding areas.
Site visits such as this also serve as an important platform to assess project progress directly and ensure that technical issues and local needs can be identified and acted upon accordingly.
Also present were MIPD Deputy Minister Datuk Ir Aidel Lariwoo, Lubok Antu Member of Parliament Roy Angau Gingkoi, Engkilili Assemblyman Dr Johnichal Rayong and MIPD Permanent Secretary Datu Chiew Chee Yau. -UKASnews
