Address Sarawak SUKMA Athletes’ Needs Immediately - Datuk Gerald
SHAH ALAM: Chef de Mission Sarawak Contingent Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu urged to immediately resolve any issues concerning Sarawak athletes competing in the 22nd Malaysia Games (SUKMA) Selangor 2026.
He stressed that the move is necessary to ensure that all athletes could compete with strong fighting spirit and focus fully on the competition, allowing them to win a haul of medals for the state contingent.
He stressed this matter while chairing the Joint Meeting of the Chef De Mission of Sarawak Contingent No. 1 at the Operations Room of the Sarawak Contingent Secretariat here on Wednesday.
In this regard, the Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development called on all committees involved to play an important role in ensuring that every athlete's needs are met so as not to affect their performance.
The meeting is made routine for the Sarawak Contingent during every organisation of SUKMA to discuss any arising problems and improve all preparations for the contingent.
Apart from that, the meeting also served as a space to identify any weaknesses and brainstorm the best strategies to improve the athletes' performance.
Various matters were also presented by each committee involved for refinement and follow-up action.
Also present at the meeting were the Murum Assemblyman and Assistant Head of the Cricket and Softball Contingent Kennedy Chukpai Ugon, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Director of the Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS) Mu'Azamir Jili as well as other dignitaries. -UKASnews
