Sultan Of Pahang Departs, Concludes Official Visit To Sarawak
KUCHING: His Majesty the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, departed for Pahang from Kuching International Airport (KIA) on Saturday at around 10 am, marking the end of his three-day official visit to the Land of the Hornbills.
Present to see off His Majesty's departure were Deputy Minister at the Sarawak Premier's Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, DBKU and Islamic Affairs), Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, as well as other distinguished guests.
His Majesty's visit to Sarawak began on 20 August with attendance at a State Dinner alongside the Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and the Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg.
On Friday, His Majesty performed Friday prayers with the local community before officiating the opening of the Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Mosque in Telok Melano.
The mosque holds special sentimental value for the Sultan of Pahang, who had earlier officiated the groundbreaking ceremony on 13 September 2023 while serving as the nation's 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
His Majesty also planted a Bauhinia Purpurea sapling in the mosque grounds, in addition to spending time strolling along Telok Melano Beach and taking photographs at the Kilometre 0.00 marker of the Pan Borneo Highway. -UKASnews
