TAIWAN: The Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainable development when it received recognition through the Asia-Pacific Sustainability Action Awards (APSAA) 2026 for the Darul Hana Redevelopment Project.
According to a statement by LCDA, the award was received by Corporate Affairs Division Senior Manager Saiful Bahari Amra Ramly, representing the LCDA General Manager in the award ceremony which took place in Taipei, Taiwan.
LCDA noted that the Darul Hana Redevelopment Project received recognition under the ‘Sustainability Action Award Social Inclusion’ category which highlights initiatives that have an impact in the aspects of social inclusion and sustainable development.
“This recognition reflects LCDA's approach in implementing development that not only focuses on physical development but also takes into account stakeholder involvement, socioeconomic transformation, community well-being and sustainable urban redevelopment.
“Through the Darul Hana Redevelopment Project, LCDA strives to ensure that development is carried out in a balanced way by taking into account the needs and interests of the local community,” it said.
LCDA added that this community-based approach also reflects the organisation’s efforts to create development capable of providing long-term value and benefits to the community while also strengthening the implementation of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles in LCDA's development initiatives.
APSAA is a regional sustainability award programme organised by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE) that involves the participation of various organisations from the Asia-Pacific region.
This recognition further strengthens LCDA's position in the sustainable development agenda as well as the organisation's commitment to continue implementing development that benefits the community and the socioeconomic development of Sarawak.
