Sarawak Expands Global Network & Strengthens Energy Agenda
BANGKOK: Sarawak continues to expand its international strategic network and strengthen its energy development agenda through Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg’s participation in a series of high-level engagements in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Sarawak Premier’s working visit on Monday began with a meeting with Group Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited Aloke Lohia at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
The meeting formed part of the visit’s key engagements, particularly in broadening Sarawak’s ties with international industry and corporate players.
Also present was Sarawak Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni together with the state government delegation.
In the afternoon, Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari is scheduled to attend a closed-door Ministerial Roundtable before proceeding with an Energy Dialogue session entitled ‘Growth, Abundance and the Courage to Decarbonise’.
He will then participate in a fireside chat at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC), which is expected to provide a platform to share Sarawak’s perspective on the future of the energy industry, economic growth, energy transition and decarbonisation efforts.
Sarawak’s participation in GASTECH 2026 also provides opportunities to broaden cooperation and strategic networks with various stakeholders and key players in the global energy industry.
Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari is scheduled to depart for Sarawak on Monday evening. -UKASnews
