KUCHING: The Sarawak Corporate Leadership Summit 2026 will bring together Board members, chief executive officers and senior leaders to strengthen leadership, governance and organisational capabilities in support of the state's transformation agenda.

According to a press release on Tuesday, the two-day summit, themed "Leading Transformation for High Performing Organisations", is being held from October 1 to 2 at the Riverside Majestic Hotel (Puteri Wing) here.

It is organised by the Sarawak Centre of Performance Excellence (SCOPE) in collaboration with the Sarawak State Financial Secretary's Office (SFSO) and the Sarawak Transformation and Innovation Unit (STIU).

Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg will officially open the summit and deliver the keynote address, "From Vision to Reality in Sarawak's Transformation Journey".

The summit comes as Sarawak advances its economic and institutional transformation under the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, while strengthening the performance, governance and competitiveness of state-owned enterprises (SOEs), government-linked companies (GLCs), statutory bodies and other public and private sector organisations.

The programme features plenary sessions and panel discussions on leadership and organisational transformation, digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI), financial resilience, environmental, social and governance (ESG) and sustainability, climate-related accountability, organisational learning, resilience and corporate governance.

Key sessions include "The Cost of Standing Still", "Winning the Transformation Journey", "Digital Transformation that Delivers Results" and "Building a Sustainable Business Through ESG".

A panel session, "Leading Change without Leaving People Behind", will examine the human dimension of transformation, including workforce engagement, trust and organisational culture.

On the second day, discussions will focus on building organisations that can learn, adapt and recover, as well as strengthening Board oversight, accountability and governance.

Speakers include representatives from Roland Berger, PwC Malaysia, Ernst & Young Consulting, Global Institute for Tomorrow, Sarawak Information Systems (SAINS), the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM) and the Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG).

The organisers said the summit is also intended to encourage collaboration and peer learning, and to support efforts to build a stronger pool of capable leaders and directors for Sarawak's organisations. -UKASnews
