KUCHING: Ustazah Nur Syakura Muhamad Musa's success in clinching the title of Qariah Champion at the 66th International Quran Recitation Assembly 1448H/2026M continues to bring pride to Sarawak on the international stage.

In appreciation of the achievement, she paid a courtesy call to present the victory trophy to the Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at the Astana Sarawak on Thursday.

The visit was led by Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, DBKU and Islamic Affairs) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.

Ustazah Nur Syakura, who serves as Quran Teacher Supervisor at the Darul Hana Quran Centre, Sarawak Islamic Council, won the prestigious title at the competition held at Dewan Merdeka, WTC KL, recently.

Her success is not only a source of pride for Sarawak, but is also hoped to inspire the younger generation to continue deepening, appreciating and strengthening their mastery of Quranic knowledge.

Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, also expressed appreciation for the achievement, which reflects the potential of Sarawakians to shine in the field of Quran recitation at the international level.

Also present on the visit were Sarawak Islamic Council Chairman Datuk Misnu Taha, Sarawak Islamic Religious Department Director Datu Mual Suaud, and Darul Hana Quran Centre (DHQc-MIS) Chief Executive Officer Ustaz Mohamad Shalahudin Marzuki. -UKASnews
