KUCHING: Sarawak Attorney-General Dato Sri Saferi Ali topped the list of recipients of the Sarawak State and Federal Civil Service Exemplary Officer Awards for the year 2025.

He received the award under the State Top Management Group category.

The awards were presented by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg during the Civil Service Day (HPA) celebration and Sarawak Civil Service Innovation Convention Awards (SCSICA) 2026 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on Wednesday.

Sarawak State Health Department Director Dato Dr Veronica Lugah was also recognised under the Federal Top Management Group category.

In the State Management and Professional Group category, the award was presented to Belaga District Officer Bidah Lujah.

Meanwhile, Deputy Director of the Sarawak State Education Department Siti Zulaiha Ibrahim was announced as the recipient for the Federal Management and Professional Group category.

The Exemplary Officer Awards also recognised the contributions of staff in the Implementation Group, with Assistant Surveyor (JA5) Ho Mei Mei from Land and Survey Department Sarawak receiving the award under the State Support Group category.

Additionally, Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department Bintulu Division Forensic Officer (KB7) Tawang Lingem was named the recipient for the Federal Support Group.

The ceremony also saw the presentation of the prestigious Sarawak Civil Service Excellent Asset Management Awards 2026, with the Limbang Division Resident's Office and Betong Division Resident's Office announced as recipients.

In another achievement, the Sarawak Secretary's Administration was recognised as being among the top five state administrations in Malaysia, having secured seven public complaints management ratings for the year 2025.

Following the achievement, Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki presented the certificate of excellence to the Sarawak Premier as a symbolic gesture of appreciation for the state leadership's strong support. -UKASnews
