Sarawak Aims To Be Benchmark For Governance & Policy Implementation
KOTA SAMARAHAN: Sarawak aims to elevate its administrative approach as a benchmark for Malaysia, with community unity, political stability, and effective policy execution serving as key foundations in charting the state's development direction.
Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg stated that the struggle of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is not merely to secure the state's political standing, but to build a Sarawak capable of serving as an example to other states.
“If we have policies, our struggle is fundamentally for the people by securing a solid position for them; we place Sarawak at the highest level in Malaysia, and we want Sarawak to become an example to Malaysia in terms of politics, unity, mutual respect, and our approach to policy implementation,” he said.
He said this while speaking at the Launching Ceremony of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Sarawak Youth Election Machinery at the Kampung Stakan Melayu Hall on Sunday.
According to him, this aspiration is anchored in the continuity of past leadership, which placed the rakyat's interests as the core basis for determining Sarawak's development trajectory.
He noted that the standing Sarawak seeks to reinforce is measured not only by development achievements, but also by the ability to preserve societal harmony and stability, ensuring government policies are successfully implemented for the public good. — UKASnews
