MoU Signing Strengthens Industry Collaboration Between KV Miri & Three Companies
MIRI: The signing of the 2025 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Kolej Vokasional (KV) Miri and three leading companies which are Borneo Inspire Training & Consultancy Sdn Bhd, Qasturie Offshore Engineering Sdn Bhd, and Extreme Engineering, continues to strengthen strategic collaboration between educational institutions and industry players.
Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, said the MoU marked an important strategic initiative in enhancing the employability of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) graduates.
“This initiative opens opportunities for industrial training, innovation projects, joint research and expertise sharing, which will further strengthen the linkage between education and industry,” he said.
His speech was delivered by SUPP Piasau Secretary, Kelvin Chia Kah Leong.
Datuk Sebastian also stressed that the success of TVET education is not only measured through academic achievement, but also through character building, technical skills and exposure to industrial training.
“Close cooperation between educational institutions and industry players is crucial to producing a workforce that is competent, innovative and ready to meet the demands of today’s job market,” he added. —UKASnews
