PADAWAN: A total of 15 recipients consisting of the Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK), clubs and church organisations in the Mambong constituency received Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants totaling RM377,000.
Sarawak Deputy Minister for Transport, Datuk Dr. Jerip Susil said that the presentation of this cheque was symbolic to notify the Sarawak Implementation Monitoring Unit (SIMU) that the official handover process had been carried out.
Meanwhile, he assured that although the application for funds was for 2025, applicants who had not yet received it would be channeled in early 2026.
In this regard, the Mambong Assemblyman stressed that the recipients must use the funds prudently and responsibly to ensure optimal benefits to the local community.
Among those who received were the Kampung Gunda Jawa JKKK, Kampung Emperoh Jambu JKK, the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Saint Paul Bunuk, Kampung Annah Rais Youth Club, Saint Augustine Church Mission District Mambong, Kampung Bratan JKKK, Siburan Basketball Club, Penrissen Biperoh Area KMKK Committee, Penrissen Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) and several other communities.
Datuk Dr. Jerip added that the handover of the cheques was to ensure that each development fund was distributed transparently, in an orderly manner and positively impacted the community.
Also present were the Administrative Officer in Charge of the Padawan Sub-District Office, Julius Scott Sapong and the Kuching District Bidayuh Pemanca Raymond Jihap. -UKASnews
