Essential Services Brought To Rural Doorstep Through Integrated Community Outreach
BINTULU: Hundreds of residents of Kampung Penan Muslim Batu 10 benefited from essential services brought directly to their doorstep today through the Program Jualan RAHMAH, Program Sejahtera Komuniti MADANI (SEJATI MADANI) and Program MEKAR Komuniti JPN, launched simultaneously in a coordinated rural outreach effort.
The programme was officiated by Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development Sarawak and Samalaju Assemblyman, Datuk Majang Renggi, who emphasised the government’s commitment to ensuring that rural communities are not sidelined from critical services and affordable necessities.
Datuk Majang said Jualan RAHMAH MADANI, which was delivered via mobile trucks, vans and outreach vehicles, provides households with access to daily essentials at 10 to 30 per cent lower than market prices, helping to ease rising living costs.
“Mobile sales initiatives like this ensure our rural folk can obtain basic goods at affordable rates without having to travel long distances,” he said.
He also highlighted the role of SEJATI MADANI, which saw participation from 24 Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) showcasing and selling their own community products.
“This programme strengthens local entrepreneurship, boosts income generation and supports the economic ecosystem in our rural areas. I encourage all JKKKs in Bintulu District to apply for and benefit from this initiative,” he added.
At the same time, the MEKAR Komuniti JPN programme offered on-site birth and death registrations, MyKad services and other documentation support, reducing the burden of travel for interior residents.
“Bringing JPN services directly to the people ensures that everyone can secure proper identification documents without the cost and difficulty of travelling far,” Datuk Majang said, urging villagers to take full advantage of the opportunity.
The integrated programme was jointly organised by the Bintulu District Office, Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) and the National Registration Department (JPN), with participation from key agencies including the Sarawak Development Office (SDO).
Today’s outreach event reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to expand service access, uplift rural livelihoods and enhance community well-being throughout Sarawak. -UKASnews
