Meluan Assemblyman Commends CSR Effort Bringing Water Relief
JULAU: The completion of a clean water supply system at SK Ulu Entaih has been hailed as an important step in improving basic facilities for rural schools, with Meluan Assemblyman Dato Rolland Duat Jubin praising the initiative as a meaningful contribution to the wellbeing of the interior community.
Dato Rolland said the effort by Watersafe Sdn. Bhd. demonstrates how private-sector partnerships can help address long-standing infrastructure gaps faced by schools in remote areas.
He noted that many interior institutions continue to struggle with limited access to essential services, making the newly completed facility at SK Ulu Entaih a timely intervention for both pupils and teachers.
“This effort brings real impact to the safety, health and wellbeing of our pupils and teachers. As the elected representative, I deeply appreciate that such assistance has reached a school in Meluan,” he said when contacted today.
Dato Rolland added that the initiative reflects the strength of corporate social responsibility (CSR) when aligned with community needs, especially for areas that historically face development challenges.
“This is a CSR model worth emulating because the benefits go directly to those who need them most,” he emphasised.
A total of 74 pupils and 22 staff members now enjoy reliable access to clean water, significantly improving daily operations and creating a more conducive learning environment.
He also expressed hope that more organisations will step forward to support rural institutions, saying that sustained collaboration is vital in narrowing development gaps in interior regions.
“This is not only about providing water. It is about giving rural children the same dignity and opportunity enjoyed by those in urban areas,” he said.
The new facility is expected to enhance hygiene standards, ease daily routines and contribute to a more comfortable teaching and learning environment for the entire school community. -UKASnews
