‘Review, Fix, Act Anew’ To Drive 13MP Implementation
KUCHING: The implementation of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) in Sarawak will be driven by three core approaches — Review, Fix and Act Anew.
Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg said prior to developing the 13MP, the state government conducted an extensive ‘Review’ phase to deep dive into challenges and resolve outstanding issues from the 12MP.
“Then, ‘Fix’ emphasises further enhancement of efforts under the 12MP, resulting in immediate actions to accelerate project implementation and service delivery.
“Meanwhile, ‘Act Anew’ represents our proactive step to seize new opportunities at the global, regional and local levels, driving high-impact growth and attracting strategic investments into Sarawak.
“The focus for 13MP is evident; better execution, better outcomes and better lives for all Sarawakians,” he said in his winding-up speech at the 19th Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Sitting on Wednesday.
Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari noted that the Sarawak Government has identified 15 key socio-economic sectors as development priorities under the 13MP including energy transition, manufacturing and SME development, commercial agriculture, tourism, arts, culture and creative industries, forestry, natural asset management and conservation, mining and oil & gas, as well as infrastructure and utilities, transport and logistic, and business services.
Furthermore, the 13MP will also focus on digital transformation, innovation, education and human capital, social services, government transformation, as well as waste and the circular economy.
He said these sectors aim to drive inclusive, innovative and sustainable growth while enhancing the well-being of Sarawakians. -UKASnews
