PESTASA President’s Cup 2025 Boosts Youth Development & Local Sportsmanship
SRI AMAN: The inaugural PESTASA President’s Cup 2025 brought lively competition to Rancangan Perumahan Rakyat (RPR) Sri Aman as 20 teams battled for the RM1,000 cash prize, drawing strong participation from local youths and the surrounding community.
The tournament was officiated by Member of Parliament for Sri Aman, Dato Sri Doris Sophia Brodie, who highlighted the importance of sports as a platform to cultivate discipline, leadership and unity among the younger generation.
She noted that continuous engagement in organised sports helps build character and strengthens community ties.
During the event, Dato Sri Doris also announced a RM5,000 allocation to the Sri Aman Sepak Takraw Association (PESTASA) in recognition of its commitment to developing sepak takraw talent and expanding youth-focused sports activities in the district.
Awangku Hafizi Awg Azahari, who was also present, expressed his appreciation for the organisers and commended the support shown by local leaders in elevating the sport’s profile within the community.
The PESTASA President’s Cup 2025 is expected to grow into a highly anticipated annual event, offering a meaningful platform for strengthening community engagement while nurturing emerging sepak takraw players in Sri Aman. -UKASnews
