Fishing Competition Elevates Community Spirit At Regatta Lingga 2025
LINGGA: The Regatta Lingga 2025 Fishing Competition concluded on a lively note as local anglers and residents gathered for the closing ceremony, celebrating community spirit and sporting camaraderie in Lingga.
The event was officiated by Lingga District Officer Frank Lani, who expressed his appreciation to all participants and organisers for their commitment in sustaining one of the district’s long-standing recreational traditions.
He said strong community support continues to demonstrate how such activities play a meaningful role in fostering unity while promoting sports tourism in the area.
The competition drew enthusiastic participation, with anglers battling skill and patience throughout the day.
Attammimi Ismawi emerged as champion, followed by Othman Jaw in second place and Aziz Ayu in third.
Each winner received their prizes amid cheers from the crowd, marking the end of a well-received and spirited contest.
Regatta Lingga’s fishing segment remains a cornerstone of the annual celebration, offering not only a platform for friendly competition but also an avenue to strengthen ties among local residents.
