Sarawak Government Delegation Visits SEA Games 2025 Broadcast Operations Centre
BANGKOK: The Sarawak Government delegation continued its working visit in Bangkok, Thailand, with a visit to the Din Daeng International Broadcast Operations Centre (BOC), a key component of the organisation of the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games 2025.
The Sarawak Government delegation included Deputy Ministers for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu and Datuk Dr Ripin Lamat, Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Operation) Datu Hii Chang Kee, and Tanjong Datu Assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan.
Additionally, the visit on Monday was attended by Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak (MYSED) Morshidi Fredrick, Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) who is also Director of the Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS) Khairul Nizam Morshidi, and a line-up of senior officials from MYSED and SSC.
During the visit, the state government delegation received a briefing from Colonel Chuchat Pimprasert on broadcast quality control, technical requirements, international signal management, and the SEA Games Federation (SEAGF) operational standards.
The delegation also assessed redundancy systems, coordination between the BOC, the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) and competition venues, as well as Thailand’s efforts in integrating broadcast operations, data management and the games management system to ensure seamless delivery of the multi-sport event.
For the record, the BOC is managed by the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT), the main body responsible for ensuring the smooth broadcast of the SEA Games 2025.
Following the visit, the delegation along with Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah held an engagement session at The National Shooting Sports Association of Thailand Under Royal Patronage (NSSAT), represented by its Secretary-General Sopittsara Tippayamonton and Competition Manager Vichit Chiewvej.
Discussions focused on venue standards, safety assessment, logistics, and the technical requirements for shooting sports in accordance with international standards.
This visit provided crucial input for Sarawak in planning its broadcasting, technology, and competition operations ahead of its hosting of the SEA Games 2027. -UKASnews
