SIMANGGANG: The Community Development Department (KEMAS) continues to play a vital role in shaping future generations by strengthening early childhood education through holistic and inclusive programmes, benefiting young learners in Sri Aman.
Bukit Begunan Assemblyman Datuk Mong Dagang said KEMAS’ commitment is reflected through various initiatives such as the Alpha Gen Talents programme, parenting workshops, family days, children’s sports activities, educational visits, National Month celebrations, as well as other programmes organised by KEMAS childcare (taska) and kindergarten (tabika).
He stressed that children must be nurtured in a healthy, cheerful and safe environment, with close cooperation between educators, parents and relevant government agencies to ensure meaningful early childhood development.
“In this regard, all parties must work hand in hand in a coordinated manner to realise the aspirations of early childhood education, so that every child can access education as early as the age of two,” he said.
The text of his speech was delivered by his special assistant, Jesi Bintoh Suntek, at the KEMAS Taska and Tabika Sri Aman Children’s Appreciation Day held at Dewan Suarah Sri Aman on Wednesday.
Datuk Mong also emphasised the importance of strong partnerships between KEMAS educators and parents, built on shared responsibility, mutual support and continuous collaboration in nurturing children’s growth and learning.
While leadership and teaching personnel may change over time, he said the strength and continuity of KEMAS as an organisation must always be upheld, calling on parents and the community to provide unwavering support to KEMAS educators in realising long-term goals in childcare and education.
A total of 178 children from KEMAS taska and tabika across the Sri Aman Parliamentary constituency were celebrated during the event, which also saw Mong announcing a Rural Minor Project (MRP) allocation of RM8,000 for 2026 to the Sri Aman KEMAS Educators Association. -UKASnews
