Sri Aman Christmas Parade 2025 Unites Churches In Orderly & Festive Celebration
SIMANGGANG: The Sri Aman Christmas Parade 2025 brought together more than 1,300 Christians from seven churches in a vibrant yet orderly procession around the town centre on Saturday night, reflecting unity and cooperation among the local Christian community.
A total of 1,313 participants from the Roman Catholic Church, Sing Eng Methodist Church, Shi En Methodist Church, St Luke’s Church, Borneo Evangelical Mission (BEM), Victory Lutheran Church (VLC), Baptist Church, Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) and St Lawrence’s Church took part in the annual celebration.
St Luke’s Church recorded the largest participation with 579 participants, followed by the Roman Catholic Church with 215 participants and St Lawrence’s Church with 201 participants.
Other participating churches included Sing Eng Methodist Church with 94 participants, Shi En Methodist Church with 65 participants, BEM with 78 participants, VLC with 19 participants, the Baptist Church with 40 participants and the SDA Church with 22 participants.
Coordinated by David Marshal, the parade was organised by the Association of Churches in Sarawak (ACS) Sri Aman branch in collaboration with St Luke’s Church and began at 6.30 pm at the church compound.
Prior to the procession, participants gathered at St Luke’s Church to take part in a series of spiritual activities, including an address by ACS Sri Aman chairman Ajai Janggong, Bible readings, Christmas choir performances and a sermon.
The procession officially commenced at 7.45 pm, covering a distance of approximately 1.5 kilometres through Jalan Munggu Sabun, Jalan Hospital, the Pasir Panas roundabout, Jalan Club and Jalan Main Bazaar before concluding at the Batang Lupar Waterfront Park at about 9 pm.
A spokesperson said the programme was successfully carried out in a smooth and orderly manner, expressing appreciation to all parties involved for their cooperation in ensuring the success of the Sri Aman Christmas Parade this year. -UKASnews
