Roofed Court At Kai Nguong Methodist Church Delivered Under RTP
MERADONG: The Sarawak Government continues to enhance community facilities in the Meradong constituency with the implementation of a Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) project involving the construction of a new roofed court at Kai Nguong Methodist Church.
The project site handover ceremony was witnessed by Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing during a brief ceremony held at the church on Thursday.
Implemented under the RTP allocation for N.46 Meradong, the RM300,000 project aims to provide a safer, more comfortable and conducive facility to support religious, social and community activities for church members and residents in the surrounding area.
According to project details, construction works are scheduled to commence two weeks after the site handover, with an implementation period of six months, and are expected to be fully completed by June 7, 2026.
Datuk Ding said the project reflects the government’s continued commitment to strengthening public facilities and houses of worship to ensure communities have access to inclusive and functional spaces that support social wellbeing.
He expressed hope that the new roofed court would serve as a long-term asset for the local community, functioning as a centre for activities that foster unity and closer community ties.
The contractor was reminded to carry out construction works in accordance with approved specifications and timelines to ensure the project is completed with quality and efficiency.
The site handover ceremony marked the official commencement of the project and demonstrated continued collaboration between the government, implementing agencies, contractors and the church in advancing development initiatives in the Meradong constituency.
