KUCHING: Two Temporary Evacuation Centres (PPS) have been opened in the Batu Kawa area to accommodate flood victims following the continuous heavy rainfall from last night.

The Kuching District Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) announced that the Stapok Community Hall PPS has been opened to accommodate flood victims affected in the Desa Wira area, Batu Kawa.

Meanwhile, the second PPS at Dewan Sinar Budi Baru has also been opened and has been receiving victims since this morning.

In this regard, residents in at-risk areas are advised to always be aware of current developments, follow the instructions of the authorities and evacuate immediately if the situation requires. -UKASnews
