Mukah Receives Inaugural Arrival Of AirBorneo On January 2
MUKAH: Mukah Division is set to create new history in the air transport sector when it receives the first arrival of AirBorneo aircraft on January 2, 2026 involving simultaneous landings at two locations, namely Mukah Airport and Tanjung Manis Airport.
The arrival is expected to be a catalyst for increasing domestic flight networks, especially in the central coastal area of Sarawak.
This was announced by Mukah Division Resident Datu Kueh Lei Poh when chairing the Preparatory Meeting for the Inaugural Arrival of AirBorneo Aircraft which was held at the Mukah Division Sarawak Government Administrative Centre on Tuesday.
Also present were Balingian Assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi and Mukah Division department heads.
According to the meeting, AirBorneo's first flight on that date will involve two types of aircraft and different arrival schedules.
At Mukah Airport, the ATR 72 aircraft is scheduled to depart from Kuching International Airport at 8.25 a.m. and arrive at 9.20 a.m.
Meanwhile at Tanjung Manis Airport, the De Havilland DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft is scheduled to depart from Kuching International Airport at 8.45 a.m. and arrive at 9.25 a.m.
To celebrate the inaugural arrival, an official reception will be held at both airports with a symbolic 'water salute'. -UKASnews
