Sarawak Civil Service Encouraged To Carry Forward Momentum With Focus, Professionalism & Integrity
KUCHING: All members of the Sarawak Civil Service are encouraged to carry forward the momentum built from this year with renewed focus, professionalism and integrity into 2026.
Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki stressed that the journey towards achieving the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 demands sustained effort, unity of purpose and a service mindset that consistently places the rakyat first.
“Throughout the year, we have continued to strengthen our capabilities as a public service that is increasingly expected to be responsive, digitally ready and forward looking.
“Capacity initiatives, leadership engagements and skills development programmes have focused not only on improving service delivery, but also on preparing our officers to navigate a rapidly evolving governance and technological landscape.
“The emphasis on digitalisation, data informed decision making and new ways of working reflects our collective effort to future proof the civil service,” he said in his 2025 Year End Address on Wednesday.
Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar said that the willingness of officers at all levels to experiment, adapt and improve processes embodies the spirit of Revisit, Rethink and Recharge must be upheld.
“Let’s revisit our weaknesses and shortcomings of 2025 and rethink ways to improve and recharge our capacity and capability to meet new challenges,” he said.
He also extended his sincere appreciation to all officers for their dedication and contributions throughout the year.
“I wish you and your families a restful period and a renewed sense of purpose as we step into the new year,” he said. -UKASnews
