SABERKAS Strengthens Community Welfare Through Ziarah Prihatin
KUALA RAJANG: Grassroots welfare efforts in the Kuala Rajang constituency were further strengthened through the Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS) Ziarah Prihatin Programme, which reached out to vulnerable families in several longhouses around Muara Payang.
Organised by the Kuala Rajang Service Centre in collaboration with SABERKAS Kuala Rajang, the programme involved visits to Rumah Muli, Rumah Sujang and Rumah Jugah, with assistance delivered directly to selected recipients identified as requiring immediate support.
The outreach was led by SABERKAS Kuala Rajang Deputy Chairman Mohamad Shukurdi Tazen, who headed the delegation in visiting Benya Mat at Rumah Muli, Lula Minggu at Rumah Sujang, as well as siblings Brayan Yohanes Ngumbang and Airoseylla Badik at Rumah Jugah.
According to the organisers, the programme aimed to ease the burden of recipients through the provision of daily necessities while also offering administrative assistance, particularly in guiding families through applications for relevant government aid schemes.
The initiative also served as a platform for direct engagement with the community, enabling organisers to better understand on-the-ground challenges faced by residents and to ensure that eligible individuals are not left out of existing assistance programmes.
The SABERKAS Ziarah Prihatin Programme is expected to continue as part of ongoing welfare initiatives in Kuala Rajang, reinforcing community ties and supporting inclusive development efforts at the grassroots level.
Also participating in the programme were Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu Sarawak (PBB) Kuala Rajang Youth Chief Mornurazli Morshidi, PBB Kuala Rajang Women Chief Misiah Abu Seman, Saberkas members and Penghulu Bidai Gisang, reflecting close cooperation between political leadership, youth organisations and local community representatives. -UKASnews
