Education Of Younger Generation Prioritised In Petra Jaya Constituency
KUCHING: Education of the younger generation continues to be made a priority in the Petra Jaya parliamentary constituency as the main foundation in building a competitive future for the state and country.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof said that the focus on education is a strategic investment in shaping a knowledgeable, skilled and highly moral generation that will lead the future of Sarawak.
According to the Member of Parliament for Petra Jaya, the strength of a state depends on the quality of its young people, hence various initiatives have been formulated to ensure that the targeted group does not miss out on the opportunity to further their education.
“When we want to see a strong future for the country, we need to start by building a strong young generation in terms of knowledge, skills and character.
“That is why education is the main focus of the Petra Jaya Parliamentary Service Centre,” he said when speaking at the Petra Jaya Youth Meet Up Programme and the Presentation Ceremony of Educational Encouragement Contributions to 24 students who successfully continued their studies at Higher Learning Institutions (IPT) here, on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Datuk Amar Fadillah shared that the educational encouragement initiative implemented since 2004 has become an annual practice of the Petra Jaya Parliamentary Service Centre in supporting the academic journey of children in the area.
According to him, throughout 2025, a total of 723 students in Petra Jaya have received the benefits of educational contributions with a total amount of RM172,500 through eight rounds of distribution.
In this programme, educational encouragement contributions were also presented to 24 selected recipients as a form of encouragement and moral support in continuing their studies.
Also present were the wife of the Deputy Prime Minister Datin Amar Ruziah Mohd Tahir and the Political Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister Ir. Irwan Zulkarnain Muhammad Hasbie. -UKASnews
