MTPMA63 Strengthens Sabah, Sarawak Public Service Cooperation
KUCHING: The Sarawak Government remains committed to strengthening strategic cooperation with the Federal Government in the aspect of public service, in line with the spirit and aspirations of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said that the organisation of the Sabah and Sarawak State Public Service Working Committee Meeting under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 Implementation Action Council (MTPMA63) Number 1 of 2026 reflects the high commitment and dedication of both parties.
According to him, the meeting is significant in ensuring that matters related to service structure, staffing, human capital development and the welfare of civil servants can be examined fairly and inclusively.
“The Sarawak Government greatly appreciates the continuous efforts of the Federal Government, especially the Public Service Department, in coordinating public service affairs in Sarawak and Sabah.
“The state government is always committed to providing full cooperation to ensure that every decision reached provides long-term benefits, not only to the public service but also to the people as a whole,” he said.
He said this when speaking at the Dinner in Conjunction with the Sabah and Sarawak State Civil Service Working Committee Meeting under MTPMA63 here on Tuesday.
Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar also expressed his appreciation to the Director-General of the Public Service Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz and the delegation from the Public Service Department and the Sabah State Government who were present.
He added that the dinner served as a platform to strengthen the relationship and network of cooperation between the Federal Government and the Sarawak Government.
He expressed confidence that the meeting would be able to achieve comprehensive, inclusive results and have a lasting impact in efforts to strengthen governance and create a sustainable civil service system in Sabah and Sarawak.
Also present were the Deputy Director-General of Public Service Datuk Dr. Mohd Bakri Ismail, Deputy Director-General of the Sabah State Public Service Aidah Awang, Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Economic Planning and Development) Dato Sri Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, Advisor in the Sarawak Premier's Office Datuk Amar Jaul Samion and other guests of honour. -UKASnews
