LANDAS Summit 2026 CSR Programme Benefits Bintulu Community
BINTULU: The Sarawak government continues to demonstrate its commitment in balancing rapid development with social responsibility through the implementation of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme under the LANDAS Summit 2026.
The initiative implemented through the Sarawak Land and Survey Department (JTS) reflects the government's ongoing concern in ensuring that the well-being of local communities is always maintained, especially those directly affected by quarrying, mining and sand and gravel extraction activities.
At the ceremony, JTS presented CSR fund contributions totalling RM110,000 to seven recipients consisting of educational institutions and community leadership.
For the education sector, three schools received a total contribution of RM60,000, namely SK Sungai Kem Batu 18, Bintulu, SK Kuala Tatau, Tatau and SK Sungai Setulan, Bintulu with each school receiving RM20,000 to support the sustainability of education and infrastructure improvements.
Meanwhile, the community sector received an allocation of RM50,000 involving four Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK), namely JKKK Rumah Panjang Tr. Pada anak Selan, JKKK Rumah Panjang Tr. Daniel anak Munking, JKKK Rumah Panjang Tr. James Kalip anak Ambu and JKKK Kampung Haji Ismail, Tatau.
The implementation of the CSR is not just financial assistance, but also a strategy to strengthen harmonious relations between industry and the people, in addition to ensuring that the results of earth's resources provide meaningful returns to the socio-economics of the local community.
The initiative under the LANDAS Summit 2026 is expected to be a catalyst for more corporate collaboration in the future for the continued development of a prosperous and inclusive Sarawak.- UKASnews
