LCDA Marks 45th Anniversary With Blood Donation Drive To Support Local Hospitals
KUCHING: In a display of community spirit, the Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) hosted its 45 Years of LCDA with the Community blood donation campaign on Thursday at Wisma Satok.
Held at the Level 4 lobby from 9:00am to 2:00pm, the initiative marks the fifth edition of the program since its inception in 2018.
Over the years, the campaign has successfully mobilised nearly 200 donors, playing a vital role in replenishing local blood banks for emergency use and patient care.
This year’s drive holds special significance as it coincides with LCDA’s 45th anniversary.
The event underscores the agency’s long-standing legacy of facilitating socioeconomic transformation while prioritizing human welfare.
According to LCDA, the programme aims to boost blood reserves by supporting the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) Blood Bank in maintaining a sufficient supply for those in need.
Furthermore, the initiative seeks to raise awareness by educating the public on the importance of consistent donation as a vital social responsibility.
The campaign also serves to strengthen ties by fostering closer relationships between the agency and the local community.
The campaign is a collaborative effort between the Sarawak General Hospital Blood Bank and LCDA under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) umbrella.
Beyond immediate medical needs, the initiative aligns with the Sarawak Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—specifically focusing on good health and well-being.
By championing such causes, LCDA continues to lead inclusive and sustainable development within the region.
The event saw a diverse turnout, including LCDA staff, representatives from various government agencies, and members of the public visiting Wisma Satok. - UKASnews
