Sarawak Governor & Wife Participate In Shooting Training At PULAPOL
KUCHING: Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi took part in a shooting training organised by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) Kuching Contingent at the Police Training Centre (PULAPOL) Kuching, on Monday.
Their arrival at 10am was welcomed by Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, Kuching District Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu and other senior PDRM officers.
The programme began with a briefing session on safety and handling of firearms delivered by the Armaments Staff Officer, Logistics and Technology Department of the Sarawak Police Contingent (IPK) Headquarters, DSP Zaidi Said who also acted as the training operator.
During the session, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah participated in the centre-fire and falling plate category training with the Sarawak Police Commissioner and senior officers of the team.
According to ACP Alexson Naga, a total of 20 officers consisting of senior male and female officers participated in the inaugural training to ensure that the level of skills and competence in the use of firearms was always at an optimum level.
Immediately after the training, the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak and his wife attended a luncheon before signing the target paper used throughout the shooting session.
The historic training, which was held for the first time with the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, ended with a group photography session before the dignitaries departed. -UKASnews
