Community Unity Strengthened, Aidilfitri A Medium To Unite Rural Society
SARIBAS: Aidilfitri continues to be a vital catalyst in strengthening the unity and harmony of rural society, as the Kampung Serembang Aidilfitri Ramah Tamah ceremony served as a platform to unite the local community in a spirit of consensus.
Sarawak Deputy Minister for Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam said that organising such events play a strategic role in bolstering social networks, deepening relationships, and instilling a sense of togetherness among the people.
According to him, the Aidilfitri celebration should be utilised as a platform to strengthen community unity while fostering a culture of mutual understanding, respect, and cooperation for collective wellbeing.
"Events like this do not only tighten kinship, but serve as an important medium for us to strengthen unity and the spirit of consensus within the community," he said while speaking at the ceremony at the Kampung Serembang Futsal Hall on Friday.
He also emphasised the role of village leadership in remaining proactive and inclusive when listening to the views and needs of the people, thereby ensuring that community development is implemented comprehensively and effectively.
He added that the active involvement of the community in contributing ideas and suggestions is crucial to ensuring that every planned initiative truly benefits the local residents.
The event, which gathered approximately 200 residents, was organised by the Kampung Serembang Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) in collaboration with various local organisations, including community and youth institutions.
This joint effort reflects a high level of community cohesion, further reinforcing the spirit of unity in line with Sarawak's aspirations for inclusive and harmonious social development. — UKASnews
