Sarawak Deputy Premier’s Visit Enlivens Chinese New Year In Sri Aman
SRI AMAN: The Chinese New Year celebration in Sri Aman continued to be lively when Sarawak Deputy Premier,m Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian paid a visit to the residence of the Sri Aman Chinese Community Leader, Temenggong Kueh Aik Seng, yesterday.
Datuk Amar Dr Sim, who is also the Sarawak Minister of Housing, Local Government and Public Health, previously officiated the Open House Ceremony which was enlivened with a lion and dragon dance performance by the Pertubuhan Menggikan Akhlak Che Chuan Khor Sri Aman.
He also signed the lion statue and performed a firecracker burning ceremony as a symbol of prayers for prosperity and new hope.
According to Temenggong Kueh Aik Seng, the visit strengthened the relationship between the leaders and the community and became a symbol of the continued prosperity of unity in Sri Aman.
