BETONG: The spirit of sharing blessings and Ramadan togetherness was further ignited as the Betong Senior Citizens Activity Centre (PAWE) distributed 300 packs of bubur lambuk to the local community during a heartwarming programme here on Tuesday.
The distribution was carried out via a drive-thru method to make it easier for the public to collect the breaking-of-fast delicacy without needing to alight from their vehicles, thereby ensuring smoothness and comfort for the recipients.
The initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of senior citizens to playing an active role in contributing to society, proving that the institution is not merely a social activity centre, but also a platform to strengthen the values of togetherness and care.
The programme was also graced by the presence of the Sarawak Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development and Layar Assemblyman, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, who spent time engaging with the elderly and the public.
He also inspected the centre's facilities and participated in the symbolic distribution of bubur lambuk as a mark of support for efforts to empower the role of the local community in social activities. — UKASnews
