SEBUYAU: A total of 60 asnaf from Kampung Sampat Sebangan received cash assistance and food baskets in conjunction with the ‘Ziarah Ramadan’ Programme.

The symbolic handover was officiated by Minister for Utility and Telecommunication Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi here on Monday.

In his speech, he said that the Sarawak Government is actively strengthening utility and telecommunications facilities for the well-being of the people, especially in rural areas such as Sebuyau.

According to the Sebuyau Assemblyman, efforts to improve internet coverage, water and electricity supply will continue to ensure no community is left out of development.

Apart from assistance to the asnaf, 30 children also received donations in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

The programme was also attended by Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) which plays a role in driving the state's digital transformation through infrastructure development, research as well as training and guidance for micro, small and medium entrepreneurs.

Also present were Samarahan Division Resident Mohamad Irwan Bahari Bujang, Ministry for Utility and Telecommunication Gas Distribution Supply Director Kasvenda Kassim and Sebuyau District Officer Ayuradiman Bujang. -UKASnews
