KUCHING: The Assistant Director of the Special Branch at Bukit Aman, DCP Dato’ Pahlawan Hishammudin Mohd Amin, paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) here on Tuesday as part of efforts to strengthen strategic ties between security agencies and the government’s communications arm.

The visit was received by the Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information and UKAS), Datuk Abdullah Saidol, together with UKAS Director Awang Putrayusrie Awang Redzuan and senior UKAS officers.

Also accompanying the delegation were the Head of the Sarawak Special Branch, SAC Mahbub Mustofa Norsalim, Deputy Head of Sarawak Special Branch 1, ACP Mohd Azahari Mohd Noor and Deputy Head of Sarawak Special Branch 2, ACP Moni Ramli.

During the visit, the delegation was given a tour of the UKAS Studio to observe first-hand its broadcasting and production operations.

A corporate briefing was also held to provide a comprehensive overview of the functions, roles and strategic communication initiatives undertaken by the UKAS office in conveying government policies and development agendas to the public. -UKASnews
