Sarawak Governor Receives Courtesy Visit From Nuzul Al-Quran Organising Committee
KUCHING: Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar received a courtesy visit from the Sarawak-Level Nuzul Al-Quran Organising Committee at his official residence, here on Wednesday.
The delegation was led by Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, Kuching North City Commission and Islamic Affairs) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.
The courtesy visit aimed at inviting Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi to grace the Sarawak-Level Nuzul Al-Quran scheduled to take place at the Bandar Sri Aman Mosque on 6 March.
Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg is also expected to attend and deliver an address during the event.
In addition, several programmes have been scheduled in conjunction with the celebration including Ziarah Ramadan, the Seminar Al-Quran Forum Perdana Saudara Kita, Al-Quran recitation by the 2026 Sarawak-Level Tilawah Al-Quran Champion Jubni Sulong and tazkirah Nuzul Al-Quran by Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Islamic Centre Director Dr Sarip Adul.
Also present during the visit were Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS) President Datuk Misnu Taha, Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) Deputy Director Ustaz Abang Borhanuddin Ahmad Masunie, Sri Aman Division Resident Mahra Salleh and other guests. -UKASnews
