SRI AMAN: A casual approach through the distribution of bubur pedas and a walkabout while delivering anti-drug prevention messages helped heighten community awareness during the 2026 Sri Aman District Bubur Pedas Distribution and ‘Walking Message Anti Dadah & Substance’ Programme, held at the compound of the Sri Aman District Office on Wednesday.
The programme was organised through a collaboration between the Sri Aman District OSC MIDS Committee and the Malaysian Drug Prevention Association (PEMADAM) Sri Aman District.
The initiative aimed to strengthen public awareness of the dangers of drug and substance abuse through a community-engagement approach that brings the message closer to the local community.
As part of the initiative, 100 PEMADAM bags containing drug prevention information leaflets were distributed to the public.
500 packs of bubur pedas were also distributed to government agencies, departments, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), community leaders and local residents.
Also present were Sri Aman District Officer Shariff Bujang, Sri Aman District Police Chief Effei Faes, representative of the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) Sri Aman Hadi Aiee and representative of the Sri Aman District Education Office Angela Sulli Edwin. -UKASnews
