Illegal Dumping In Siburan Requires Attention From All Parties
SIBURAN: The issue of illegal dumping in the area behind Unaco Batu 18 and along Lorong 3C Siburan is reported to be on the rise and requires serious attention from all parties.
In this regard, the Siburan District Council conducted an official visit to the affected locations on Wednesday afternoon to observe the current situation following the implementation of cleaning works, as well as to assess the need for further comprehensive and effective action.
The visit was led by the Chairman of the Siburan District Council, Ranum Bari, together with the Chairman of the Public Health and Urban Environment Committee, Kr. Solo Saint Djones Kaosz, Council Secretary Hiu Kee Sing, and Siburan Zone 2 Councillors Kr. Pang Khong Par and Kr. Lee Yean Seah. The visit was also attended by officers and staff of the Siburan District Council.
The Council has taken immediate action by carrying out cleaning works in the affected areas to ensure that environmental cleanliness and public well-being continue to be safeguarded.
Meanwhile, members of the public are advised not to dispose of waste in unauthorised areas and are urged to play their part in maintaining environmental cleanliness for the well-being of the community.
The public is also encouraged to report any illegal dumping activities by submitting photographic evidence via email or by contacting the Siburan District Council.
The Council emphasised that it will not compromise with any party found to be violating the regulations, with a compound of up to RM1,000 that may be imposed under the provisions of the Local Authorities (Cleanliness) By-Laws 1999.
The Siburan District Council also expressed its appreciation for the cooperation of all parties in ensuring that the environment remains clean, safe and well maintained, in line with the slogan,“Kebersihan Tanggungjawab Bersama” which means “Cleanliness is a Shared Responsibility.”-UKASnews
