LAWAS: The tradition of Ziarah Raya continues to play an important role in strengthening relationships and promoting unity within the community.
In the spirit of Hari Raya, Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, accompanied by his wife visited the Islamic Cemeteries at Pulau Sari and Pulau Salam on Tuesday to honour the graves of his parents and nearest relatives.
According to him, the tradition serves both as a tribute to departed loved ones and as a moment for reflection and prayers for their spiritual well-being.
He also made a Hari Raya visit to the residence of Awang Hamdan Datuk Awang Daud here, demonstrating the strong rapport between leaders and the local community.
The visit also provided an opportunity for closer interaction between leaders and the community through greetings and exchanges of well-wishes in a relaxed yet meaningful setting.
As a strategic district in northern Sarawak, Lawas continues to showcase its cultural uniqueness and strong sense of unity, especially through the practice of visits and ziarah which are longstanding local traditions. -UKASnews
