LAWAS: Trusan as a sub-district area is now focusing on infrastructure development as its main priority, through the implementation of various strategic projects designed to strengthen basic facilities, enhance the well-being of the people, and stimulate local socio-economic growth.
Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said that among the key projects currently receiving attention is the implementation of the first phase of the Sarawak–Sabah Link Road (SSLR), which has now reached 70 per cent completion, making it an important catalyst for connectivity and the future development of the area in Trusan .
In addition, he informed that the Trusan local development plan for this year carries a budget allocation of RM47 million, focusing on the implementation of major infrastructure, the Trusan sub-district office, as well as the construction of a new mosque, which has been prioritised.
“Commercial facilities such as Anjung Usahawan and Petros Station are also being provided, alongside efforts to develop the Trusan area as a Wetland Park,” he said while speaking during a visit to the residence of the Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak, Awangku Jienal Abedin Dato Pengiran Jawa, on Wednesday.
In terms of housing, he added that the first phase of the development plan will provide 50 housing lots, which will later be expanded to nearly 100 lots, including village resettlement.
Meanwhile, the Bukit Sari Assemblyman also emphasised that Hari Raya is a time to unite the community, despite the diversity of races and religions.
