Youth Club Dialogue, Sarawak Sports Association Secures Funding Access
KUCHING: Over 80 youth clubs and sports associations from across Sarawak joined a dialogue at the Sarawak State Youth and Sports Complex here on Thursday, focusing on resolving field issues and accessing funding support.
The session served as an important platform for the ministry to hear directly the challenges faced by youth clubs and sports associations, while also bridging the communication gap between the government and the sports community.
Concurrently, the dialogue further reinforced initiatives to ensure that sports development in the state is carried out inclusively, systematically, and with significant impact.
Among the main focuses was sharing information on funding and assistance under the Ministry of Youth and Sports through the Sports Commissioner and the Youth Organisation Registrar, including the application procedures and eligibility requirements.
Notably, this year, funding facilities have been extended to clubs registered under the Registrar of Societies, in accordance with specific guidelines.
Such dialogue sessions are considered a strategic step in meeting the needs of youth clubs and sports associations, while also strengthening the state’s sports development ecosystem and ensuring fair and comprehensive access to financial assistance.
Furthermore, the session offered participants a platform to put forward proposals, obtain further clarification regarding funding facilities, and reinforce strategic collaboration to enhance the implementation of sports programs in Sarawak.
The dialogue session was attended by the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Mordi Bimol. -UKASnews
