KUCHING: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg received two courtesy calls at Kompleks Satria Pertiwi, here on Monday.

The first visit involved Army Chief General Dato' Azhan Md Othman who paid his maiden courtesy call following his appointment on 1 January 2026.

Also present were Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah as well as Sarawak Security and Enforcement Unit (UKPS) Director Abdul Wahab Rahim.

Also present were Eastern Field Commander Lieutenant General Dato' Mohd Sofi Md Lepi and 1st Infantry Division Commander Major General Dato' Khairul Anuar Abd Aziz.

Shortly afterwards, Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari received a farewell visit from University of Technology Sarawak (UTS) Vice-Chancellor Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr Khairuddin Ab Hamid.

The visit was held in conjunction with the end of Datuk Dr Khairuddin's tenure as the head of the state-owned university, based in Sibu, this month.

Also present were daughter of the Sarawak Premier Dayang Norjihan and wife of the UTS Vice-Chancellor Datin Dayang Mariani Abang Zain. -UKASnews
