TERAJU Reinforce Strategic Cooperation With Sarawak
KUCHING: The Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit (TERAJU) continues to strengthen strategic cooperation with the Sarawak Government in an effort to empower the development of Bumiputera entrepreneurs and companies in the state through various financing initiatives and more comprehensive support programmes.
TERAJU Chief Executive Officer Junady Nawawi said the effort was expressed during his courtesy visit to Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan to discuss the unit’s closer role with the state government.
He said the discussions focused on efforts to expand TERAJU's involvement as a central agency responsible for scaling up Bumiputera entrepreneurs and the broader economic ecosystem, especially in helping to develop more local entrepreneurs and companies in Sarawak.
"Among the aspects discussed included financing provided by TERAJU through collaboration with financial institutions, as well as peer-to-peer financing and recognised market operators for the purpose of syariah-compliant working capital and project financing," he said.
He said this when met by reporters after the courtesy visit at Wisma Sumber Alam, Petra Jaya, on Monday.
In addition, Junady shared that TERAJU is also scheduled to launch the Bumiputera Sarawak and Sabah Scale-Up Fund next month, which is expected to be a new catalyst for the growth and expansion of Bumiputera entrepreneurs in both regions.
He added that the initiative aligns with ongoing efforts by TERAJU and the Sarawak Government to bolster Bumiputera participation in high-impact economic sectors, while broadening access to more inclusive and sustainable strategic financing. -UKASnews
