Multi-Ethnic Presence Enlivens Aidilfitri At Darul Istiqamah Mosque In Sibu
SIBU: The presence of a multi-racial community in a single event reflects the harmony and unity that continue to flourish in Sibu.
Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Dato Sri Tiong King Sing said the 2026 Aidilfitri Ramah Tamah ceremony held at Darul Istiqamah Mosque, Jalan Sukun, on Saturday served as a prime example of bringing local residents together in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
According to him, while the event was held modestly, it carried significant meaning as people from various backgrounds gathered to share the joy and spirit of the celebration.
“It’s not just about the food or the festivities, but the presence of local people from various backgrounds, gathering in one space with the same smile.
"This is the true face of Malaysia, where celebrations do not belong to just one race, but are shared as a sign of respect, friendship, and togetherness,” he said in a post on his official Facebook page.
The Dudong Assemblyman noted that the spirit of neighbourliness and belonging in Sibu is palpably felt through the friendly interactions among residents.
He remarked on the strong sense of community felt through shared laughter and the consistently warm hospitality offered by the locals.
Dato Sri Tiong, who is also the Member of Parliament for Bintulu, expressed his appreciation to the Darul Istiqamah Mosque Management Committee for the invitation and the warm reception.
He concluded by hoping that Aidilfitri continues to serve as a bridge that brings everyone closer together, regardless of their background or origin.- UKASnews
