Water Access Remains A Top Priority For Sarawak Government
KUCHING: The Sarawak government remains committed to ensuring comprehensive, high-quality water access across the state through the delivery of various strategic projects.
Sarawak’s Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi said these efforts include the construction of new water treatment plants, upgrades to existing facilities, the development of pipe grid systems, and the replacement of ageing pipes, all funded directly by the Sarawak government.
He explained that all these efforts are being carried out by his ministry in collaboration with the implementing agencies, namely the Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) and Sarawak Water.
“Continuous monitoring is being carried out, including regular site visits, to ensure that projects are progressing smoothly and remain on schedule,” he posted on his official Facebook page on Tuesday.
He added that this implementation is guided by the Sarawak Water Master Plan, the Sarawak water grid system, and the state-wide pipe replacement and upgrading programme.
Invitations for site visits have also been extended to elected representatives, relevant government officials, and community leaders to ensure collaborative monitoring can take place. -UKASnews
