Sarawakku Sayang Programme Expands Government Service Delivery Across Sarawak
LIMBANG: The Sarawak Government is intensifying its outreach initiatives to bridge development gaps and ensure that all quarters of society, particularly those in rural and remote areas, have direct access to government services.
Through the Sarawakku Sayang Programme, the state government continues to strengthen its commitment to engaging directly with the people, ensuring that no group is left behind in the state’s development.
Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said the programme represents a proactive approach by the government to connect with the public, while enhancing the delivery of information and services more effectively.
He said the programme provides an avenue for the public to obtain information and services directly from government agencies in a more approachable and engaging setting.
“The objective of the Sarawakku Sayang Programme is to deliver information on government services to the people so they can come forward and access services face-to-face, or through a ‘human touch’ approach,” he said when met by reporters after the soft launching ceremony of the Sarawakku Sayang 2026 Programme, here on Friday.
According to him, although digital services are becoming more widespread, a physical approach remains important to ensure the needs of the people are comprehensively met.
“While online services are available, direct public engagement allows physical services to be delivered more effectively,” he explained.
He added that the initiative also fosters a sense of love for Sarawak among its people, particularly in terms of unity, harmony and state stability.
Meanwhile, he said Limbang holds strong potential to be further developed as a competitive area, supported by its cultural diversity, culinary strengths and ongoing development initiatives.
He stressed that the implementation of the Sarawakku Sayang Programme is expected to serve as a catalyst for more similar initiatives in other locations, thereby extending its benefits to communities across the state.
The programme is also anticipated to have a significant impact in raising public awareness of various government initiatives, while facilitating easier access to services and strengthening ties between government agencies and local communities. -UKASnews
