Forest Department Sarawak Wins Gold, International Recognition At MTE 2026
KUALA LUMPUR: The Forest Department Sarawak (FDS) achieved a significant milestone at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2026 Award Ceremony held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, with two of its projects receiving top honours.
According to FDS, its ‘Carbon’ and ‘Terrasphere’ projects were awarded Gold under the Public Service Innovation Award (PSIA) category.
In addition, the Carbon project received international recognition with a Special Award from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) under the Thailand Reward for the Best International Invention and Innovation.
“These achievements reflect the department’s strong commitment to innovation, collaborative excellence and the advancement of sustainable forest management practices through the use of technology.
“FDS remains dedicated to continuously enhancing its capabilities, driving innovation and contributing meaningfully towards global environmental sustainability, while strengthening its position on the international stage,” it said in a statement today. -UKASnews
