Integrated Coordination Drives Socio-Economic Development In Samarahan
KOTA SAMARAHAN: Socio-economic development in the Samarahan Division is being further strengthened through closer coordination among implementing agencies, ensuring that each project brings meaningful and direct benefits to local communities.
Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development and Kota Samarahan Member of Parliament Datuk Rubiah Wang stated that current priorities are centred on close monitoring of project implementation and more integrated strategic planning.
She stated that the broadening of the committee’s scope from a focus on tourism to socio-economic development reflects current requirements that call for a more holistic approach.
“Regular updates on project progress, along with close coordination between technical agencies, are vital to ensure all initiatives are carried out as planned and meet their intended goals,” she said while chairing the Integrated Regional Samarahan Development Agency (IRSDA) Socio-Economic Committee meeting on Monday.
She also stressed that close cooperation between local authorities such as the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS), Simunjan District Council (MDS) and Gedong District Council (MDG), together with technical agencies including the Land and Survey Department and the Samarahan Public Works Department (JKR) serves as a catalyst for the successful implementation of projects.
In the meantime, assessments of the current status of projects, together with the planning of new initiatives continue to be given priority in efforts to stimulate local economic growth and enhance the living standards of the rakyat.
Also present were Sarawak Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development (Infrastructure Development) Datuk Ir Aidel Lariwoo, Samarahan District Officer Ahmad Abdul Razak, Asajaya District Officer Jerry Zainuddin Bidin, Gedong District Officer Jamain Wahab and Simunjan District Officer Sanuyah Mohamad. -UKASnews
