Sarawak Governor & Wife Receive Courtesy Call From Sarawak Orang Ulu National Association
KUCHING: The Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, received a courtesy call from a delegation of the Sarawak Orang Ulu National Association (OUNA) at the Astana Sarawak on Wednesday.
The visit was led by the President of OUNA, Dato Dr Abu Bakar Abdullah @ Tom Belarek.
This courtesy call was held to deliver the official invitation letter to Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Fauziah as the Guests of Honour for the Thanksgiving Dinner in conjunction with OUNA's 60th Diamond Jubilee Celebration, which is scheduled to take place this July in Miri.
During the meeting, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi also shared his experiences serving in the Police Field Force, where the majority of his team members consisted of the Iban and Orang Ulu communities.
Furthermore, he also shared various stories, including the challenges of serving in remote areas as well as the importance of discipline, resilience, and a spirit of cooperation in carrying out one's duties.
The sharing served as an inspiration to the attendees, particularly in maintaining the importance of unity among the state's multi-ethnic society.
Meanwhile, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Fauziah expressed their appreciation for the visit.
The meeting session also reflects OUNA's continuous commitment to strengthening unity and elevating the Orang Ulu community in Sarawak.
