Unity Strengthened, Youth Urged To Carry Sarawak’s Harmony Forward
MUKAH: The unity within the state’s diverse racial and religious communities continues to be a fundamental strength contributing to Sarawak’s stability and harmonious environment.
Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information and UKAS) Datuk Abdullah Saidol emphasised that such strength must be preserved and further reinforced, particularly among the youth as the future generation of the state.
He stated that the youth play an important role in ensuring that Sarawak continues to remain a developed, peaceful and harmonious state.
“The youth of today are the generation that will continue this legacy of unity, thereby shaping Sarawak’s future to remain beautiful in its diversity,” he said.
He said this when officiating the Hi-Tea ceremony in conjunction with the Triennial General Meeting of the Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS) Balingian and Tellian branches for the 2026–2029 term at Kingwood Hotel Mukah on Sunday.
The Semop Assemblyman also underscored the changing landscape of the younger generation today, who are increasingly exposed to technology and unlimited access to information.
He said youths must always be prepared to adapt and move in line with rapidly changing current developments.
In the meantime, Datuk Abdullah commended the Sarawak government’s proactive leadership in formulating a range of development agendas, particularly in the economic sector.
He stated that the state must not fall behind and should continue to advance to ensure ongoing development and progress.
He also encouraged young people to make full use of available opportunities and actively contribute to shaping the state’s development.
During the same event, he announced the allocation of a Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant amounting to RM10,000 each to the SABERKAS Balingian and Tellian branches.
Earlier, Balingian Assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi and Tellian Assemblyman Royston Valentine expressed their appreciation to members of SABERKAS from both branches for their commitment and contributions towards strengthening youth organisations in their respective constituencies. -UKASnews
