KUCHING: Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi received a courtesy visit from renowned preacher from Indonesia, Professor Ustaz Dr Abdul Somad Batubara at the Astana Negeri Sarawak on Monday.

Ustaz Abdul Somad's presence at the Astana Negeri Sarawak followed an invitation from Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi to spend time meeting and exchanging greetings.

Also present was the Indonesian Consulate General in Kuching, Sarawak Dr Abdullah Zulkifli.

Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi during the courtesy visit shared about his career up until he assumed the position of Sarawak Governor while also sharing the history and development of Malaysia in the past to the present.

Meanwhile, this courtesy visit was held on Ustaz Abdul Somad's last day in Sarawak before departing for Pekanbaru, Indonesia.

His presence in the state is part of a series of preaching tours that began last Saturday and ended today.

This is part of his annual programme of preaching in Sarawak where he has given talks at the Darul Mutaqqin Mosque in Kampung Buntal, the India Mosque in Bandar Kuching, the Ibadurrahman Surau of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Agama Matang 2 and the Datuk Patinggi Ali Gedong Hall. -UKASnews
